REMCO

Pirates of the Evil
Seas
In 1991, Remco toy company made a series of 6 fully
articulated Pirate figures in the same style as their
American Defense military toy line.
Remco is famous for creating knock off figures, in order to capitalize
on the success of a media event (Desert Storm Figures), or a popular toy
competitor like G.I. Joe. The figures are considered hard to
find. Especially carded. Wal-mart is known to have
stocked the 3 packs. It is uncertain if any other store
carried them. There are also single carded versions which have
different artwork on the front, compared to the 3 packs. There are
some figure variations. It is believed that the 3-packs figures
came with 2 tone eyes, (white with a blue iris). And single carded
figures with just the blue color and no whites. There has
not been enough carded versions found to break this general rule.
But with Remco, it could simply be a random variation. Finally,
there are construction variations like different waste pieces
used on the Calico figure. |
